KIM TROUT

Kim Trout has served clients in Idaho, the Pacific Northwest, and across North America in business development, risk management, and complex litigation.  With over 25 years experience, Kim’s breadth and depth of expertise includes business law and heavy construction law and litigation; power resources development and bond litigation; contract negotiation, arbitration and mediation; residential and commercial real estate law; law firm development and management; criminal law; and project management. He has served as General Counsel for commercial construction, energy, specialized staffing, and professional sports. He has also served as a Travelers Bond Claims Department representative in Idaho, eastern Washington, and western Montana for seven years. Kim has experience working with Federal, State and local government, and his work has traversed international boundaries.

After many years of building multidisciplinary law practices, Kim has returned to his core passion by re-opening an independent practice with a modified approach to law.  Trout Law is adapting to the legal environment with a prescriptive, risk management method of servicing clients’ needs. Trout Law is focused on risk analysis, preventative planning and execution, and litigation problem solving when necessary.

Kim has taught more than a dozen National Business Institute, Loriman, and private (self-produced) seminars on construction law and real property practice. He has facilitated seminars and wrote treatises re: AIA Construction Documents, Municipal Construction Contracting and Architect/Engineer/Design Professional Liability.  He currently serves on the Board for Rawhyde Adventures, and his professional membership include:
